Soundwave #001

The vision behind these events was to highlight local musical talent and provide them with a unique and captive audience in our creative space. Sourced Collective curated local entrepreneurs Compliment Coffee Roasters & Sundrop Vintage to provide refreshments and a bohemian lounge, respectively.

The night started off with a mix of tunes from California alternative ukulele band Vanillaroma. Frontman Spencer Ford got the good vibes going with "Pyrotechnics", a new song off of their upcoming album Sophomore Slump. The improvised trio of Spencer, his brother Chase, and Jordan Rodriguez (missing members Adrian Nieto & Christian Claudio) followed that up with a cover of Bright Eyes' "At The Bottom of Everything". Finally they closed their set with "Notice Me" a song off of their debut EP Greatest Hits.

Following Vanillaroma, we had Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Jake Tittle. Jake opened his set with "Just a Feeling" a song off of his 2015 record Casual Lies, he told us that the song was about a conversation he had with his best friend about not getting together with his ex-girlfriend at the time. His second tune was "Fine Wine" a new song off of his upcoming album that touches upon the subject of his insecurities within relationships. His final song was another new song about love in the digital age that we live in.

Our final artist of the night was Scott Ruth, of the bands Roah Summit and Futures League, who just released his solo album The Weight of It All. Scott was accompanied by Drew Chaffee on electric guitar for the night, the duo started their set off with "Where I Belong", a song with a controversial past of being ripped off by another artist. He followed that up with another song off of his new album, that he described as a song about feeling like you rather die than love someone. His final song of the night was a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Silver Springs" a song off of Rumours.
