Beach Goth V

To say that Beach Goth V went off without a hitch would be a great overstatement, but that doesn't mean it didn't have its redeeming qualities. The saving grace was a slew of inspired performances from artist that went above and beyond on their end despite the same respect not being shown to them from The Observatory staff and promoters. This years fest featured a heavy hitting line up curated by local favorites, The Growlers, who also ended up playing both nights. Day one of the fest went well with the biggest complaints coming from the lines and will call, where after a last minute change of venue from Oak Canyon Ranch back to the Observatory Grounds left both of these backed up well into the early hours of the fest causing many early acts to have crowds of 50 people or less. Apparent host Eric Andre made spot appearances on stages when he deemed them worthy enough to halt his drug and alcohol fueled weekend.  The fest was graced with a variety of legends in their respective genre from acts like Bon Iver to the Violent Femmes and Patti Smith to Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes.
